Ini Dima-Okojie gives up bread, meat and other foods in bid to shrink fibroid

This dietary change comes after Okojie sadly announced that her fibroids had returned, three years after she underwent invasive surgery to remove them in 2020.

Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has revealed that she has given up bread, meat, and other foods in an effort to shrink her fibroids, which have recently returned.

In a video shared on her TikTok account on August 15, 2024, Okojie explained that she has adopted a holistic approach to manage her fibroids, as she is determined to avoid another surgery.

“So I’m on a holistic journey to shrink my fibroids, which means I have to follow a special fibroid diet,” she shared. “Some of the things I’ve had to give up include red meat like lamb, cow, ram, goat, and all that goat meat—as well as sausages, processed meats, and any form of red meat. I’ve also eliminated white carbs like white pasta, noodles, rice (which I love), and bread.”

She continued by listing other foods that are now off-limits, including dairy products and processed foods.

“Dairy like cheese and milk refined sugar in cookies, cakes, condiments, and processed food in general, as well as carbonated drinks and caffeine, are all out,” she added. “An honorary mention goes to sodium and anything high in salt. I’m avoiding these foods because they are high in estrogen, which can contribute to fibroid growth.”

This dietary change comes after Okojie sadly announced that her fibroids had returned, three years after she underwent invasive surgery to remove them in 2020. In a video posted in July 2024, she acknowledged the emotional toll of this setback, admitting that it has been challenging for her. However, she firmly stated that she has no plans to undergo another surgery to remove them.
