Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has described her decision to end her marriage to Olakunle Churchill as the best choice she’s ever made.
Sharing her experience in response to a single mother who reached out to her on Instagram, Dikeh clarified that it wasn’t Churchill who left the marriage, but rather she made the call to walk away for the sake of herself and her son.
She explained: “I was the one who chose to walk away from my marriage. I needed to leave for my well-being and my child’s. It was the best decision I ever made.”
Tonto further encouraged the woman to focus on personal growth, emphasizing that transformation comes from investing in oneself.
In a broader message to single mothers, she candidly acknowledged the challenges but offered spiritual advice: “I don’t have a manual for this journey. My biggest teacher has been love, and I let God lead the way. Draw strength from Him, and keep your family matters private.”
Dikeh’s marriage to Churchill dissolved in 2017 amidst allegations of infidelity and domestic violence, with the former couple continuing to exchange public accusations, particularly over Churchill’s role as a father. Despite the turmoil, Tonto continues to advocate for healing, growth, and privacy, especially for single mothers facing similar challenges.
