Diddy apologises for assaulting ex-girlfriend in viral video

“My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m so sorry.”

Embattled American rapper and music executive Sean Combs, known as Diddy, has issued a public apology following the release of video footage showing him assaulting his former signee and estranged girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel hallway in 2016.

The video, obtained by CNN, shows Diddy repeatedly kicking and throwing objects at Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016.

Diddy has now taken “full responsibility” for his actions depicted in the video.

In a video message shared on his social media page on Sunday, Diddy admitted that his behavior was “inexcusable.”

He said: “My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m so sorry.”

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has said it won’t prosecute Diddy over the assault video, despite public outcry.

According to the attorney’s office, the incident is “beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.”
