The police in Sokoto State have apprehended two suspects in connection to a recent village market attack in Kiri, in the Gada Local Government Area of the state, which resulted in the tragic loss of six lives.
ChannelsTV reports that ASP Ahmad Rufai, the state police spokesperson, disclosed this in a telephone interview on Sunday: The suspects were apprehended with significant evidence, including three cows and a dane gun.
Rufai stated that the suspects, hailing from Sabon Garin Dole in the Goronyo Local Government Area of the state, confessed to their involvement in the crime.
The attack, which suspected bandits carried out, sent shockwaves through the community.
In a related development, the police are also investigating the alleged killing of an armed robbery suspect by a mob at the Old Airport axis of the state.
Sources within the community reported that the suspected robber, who had invaded the community with two accomplices (now at large), was killed in a mob action. The police have assured us that they will take the necessary actions upon the conclusion of the investigation.
