MOMAN to distribute petroleum products from Dangote refinery

Members of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) have enrolled with the company to distribute refined petroleum products from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

This is coming just three days after the refinery began production.

Dada Olusegun, the president’s social media special assistant, revealed this on Monday in a post on X.

He stated that once commercial terms are finalised, the seven major oil marketers will begin fuel distribution, while the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) plans to discuss loading terms with the refinery.

Olusegun said:

“MOMAN’s registered members, including 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc, and NNPC Retail, are poised to purchase and distribute products from the refinery, which can load 2,900 trucks daily and adheres to Euro V specifications.”

“Dangote’s refinery design adheres to standards set by the World Bank, US EPA, European emission norms, and Department of Petroleum Resources emission/effluent norms, utilizing advanced technology.”

Similarly, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) stated in a statement that the association has been in discussions with the refinery about the supply of products from the facility.

On January 12, 2023, the Dangote refinery began production of diesel and aviation fuel after receiving six shipments of crude for its operations.

In a statement on the occasion, Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu “for his support, encouragement, and thoughtful advice towards the realisation of this project.”

Dangote said:

“We thank President Bola Tinubu for his support and for making our dream come true. This production, as witnessed today, would not have been possible without his visionary leadership and prompt attention to details.”

He stated that once the refinery receives regulatory approvals, the products (diesel and aviation fuel) will be available in the market within a month.
