Gunmen kidnapped two people in the Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory in the early hours of Sunday.
Yakubu, a resident, reported that six gunmen came, shot sporadically, and abducted the victims at 1 am.
The FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, stating that the police rescued the victims.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects, and the victims will be reunited with their loved ones.
She said, “There was a swift response from our men from Mpape and the command tactical team.
“They mounted pressure on the criminals which forced them to leave behind the victims. They would soon be reunited with their family members. We are also on the trail of the suspects.”
