Chelsea have reportedly completed the signing of Portuguese midfielder Dario Essugo from Sporting CP in a deal worth €22 million.
According to a post by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Saturday via X, the 20-year-old has undergone his medical and will officially join the Blues this summer as part of the first-team squad.
Essugo is set to sign a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge, further reinforcing Chelsea’s long-term vision under their current project.
Meanwhile, fellow Sporting talent Geovany Quenda will also make the switch to Chelsea in 2026 after an agreement was reached for a €48 million transfer fee.
Romano said, “Dario Essugo to Chelsea, here we go! Agreement done with Sporting and medical completed.
“€22m transfer fee for 20 year old midfielder to join #CFC THIS summer and be part of the first team. Essugo will sign a 7 year deal.
“Quenda joins in 2026 for €48m fee.”
