The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has categorically denied rumors about relocating a fire-fighting simulator from the Nigerian College of Technology in Zaria to Lagos State. In a press release today, March 3, 2024, the Ministry condemned the unfounded speculation as pure mischief aimed at causing destabilization.

The controversy stemmed from a video depicting a motion raised in the House of Representatives by an honorable member, alleging plans to move the simulator and urging the House to intervene. However, the Ministry asserts that these claims are baseless and without merit.

While acknowledging the House’s concern, the Ministry emphasized that the rumors had already been addressed in a private meeting between the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Speaker of the House. During this meeting, the Minister assured the Speaker that there was no truth to the rumors. Furthermore, the Minister contacted the Rector of the Nigerian College of Technology in Zaria, who confirmed the rumors were unfounded.

The Ministry questioned the necessity of the motion in light of these assurances, labeling it as grandstanding and an attempt to exploit a non-issue for political gain.
