The Delta State governorship tribunal has dismissed a petition filed by Ovie Omo-Agege challenging the election of Sheriff Oborevwori as the governor of the state.
In the judgment delivered on Friday, the three-member tribunal, led by Chibuzo Ahuchaogu, found the petition lacking in merit.
The tribunal stated that the issues raised were speculative.
They added that the petitioners failed to prove allegations of non-compliance with the Electoral Act and corrupt practices beyond a reasonable doubt.
In the March 18 governorship election, Sheriff Oborevwori, of the PDP, defeated Ovie Omo-Agege of the APC.
Oborevwori received 360,234 votes, while Omo-Agege secured 240,229 votes.
