President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated seven new ministers.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday in the council chamber of the Aso Rock villa.
These ministers were confirmed by the senate after a comprehensive screening exercise conducted last week.
During the screening, senators spent several hours questioning the nominees about the portfolios assigned to them by the president.
The senate confirmed Nentawe Yilwatda as the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as the minister of labour and employment, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as the minister of state for foreign affairs, and Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as the minister of state for housing and urban development.
Additionally, Idi Mukhtar Maiha was confirmed as the minister of livestock development, Jumoke Oduwole as the minister of trade and investment, and Suwaiba Said Ahmad as the minister of state for education.
Approximately two weeks ago, the president dismissed 5 ministers and requested the senate to screen and confirm these new appointees to fill the vacant and newly created positions in his cabinet.
