President Bola Tinubu is expected to send ministerial nominees’ list to the Senate this week.
According to the law, the President must forward the list within 60 days of taking office.
Tinubu’s administration started on May 29, leaving about 10 days to constitute the cabinet.
According to a Presidency source, they prepared the list but made adjustments in some states.
They expect to forward the list to the National Assembly between Wednesday and Thursday, unless any development causes further delays.
The President is supposed to constitute his cabinet by July 26, so they are confident that the list will be sent to the senate this week.
Various purported ministerial lists have been circulating. This has left Nigerians guessing about the government’s composition and the possibility of a national unity government.
Presidential spokesman Dele Alake stated that President Tinubu will decide when to submit the list to the National Assembly and reveal the nominees.
Alake assured that the list will be made public within the 60-day timeframe.
