President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to confirm Musa Aliyu as the substantive chair of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC).
The request was read on the floor of the Senate by Jibrin Barau, the Deputy President of the Senate.
It was based on Section 3(6) of the ICPC Act.
He said,
“In compliance to section 3(6) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Commission (ICPC) Establishment Act 2000, I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate the appointment of Mr. Musa Adamu Aliyu as chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC)”.
Earlier, the President had announced the appointments of Musa Aliyu as the Chair of the ICPC.
He also announced Clifford Okwudiri Oparaodu as the Secretary of the Commission.
The announcement was made through a statement made by Ajuri Ngelale, the Presidential Spokesperson.
Additionally, the President has requested the Senate’s confirmation for the appointments of Saka Bolaji Suleiman and Gadji F Dantata as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.
