President Bola Tinubu has offered his condolences to the family of Issa Hayatou, the former President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Hayatou died on Thursday at the age of 77.
Hayatou has also served as acting President of FIFA, the world’s governing body for football.
Tinubu, through his spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, expressed his condolences to the Cameroonian Football Federation, the Cameroonian people, and the African football community.
He acknowledged the iconic football administrator’s death as a great loss. Tinubu also emphasised his contributions to the sport’s development in Africa and elsewhere.
The President prayed for the soul of the deceased and strength for his family during this difficult moment.
