Vice-President Kashim Shettima has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu has wonderful plans to improve the people’s living conditions.

Shettima gave the assurance on Saturday in Kafur, Katsina state, when he launched an empowerment scheme sponsored by Ibrahim Masari, the president’s senior special assistant on political matters.

The vice president urged Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu’s administration, emphasising that leadership is all about empathy.

He said:

“The president is quite thrilled by the show of support and empathy by Hon Ibrahim Kabiru Masari.”

“Leadership is all about showing empathy and support to the people. The president has the people of this great nation at heart.

“I am here to reassure the people of Katsina and by extension in the north-west that there are very beautiful plans for the people.”

The VP also stated that Tinubu places a high priority on restoring peace in areas with security challenges.

Shettima praised the empowerment scheme and thanked Masari for making the gesture to his people.

He urged well-meaning individuals to emulate Masari “who is a lover of his people”.

Shettima said:

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) shall continue to govern Katsina state because of the achievements of the current and previous administrations in the state.”

Barau Jibrin, deputy senate president, also spoke at the event and praised Masari for the empowerment scheme, noting that both chambers of the national assembly are pleased with what the presidential aide has done.

“He has done something unique, and I call on other political appointees to emulate this gesture because times are hard and this is the right time to give such support to the people,” Jibrin said.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Inuwa Yahaya, governor of Gombe state and chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, thanked Kashim for assisting his constituents.

Yahaya urged the recipients to make good use of the money and items given to them.

“I also urge you to imbibe the habit of helping others in the future,” he said.

Abdullahi Ganduje, national chairman of the APC, was represented by Ali Dalori, deputy national chairman (north), and stated that the empowerment scheme aims to improve people’s lives.

Beneficiaries received sewing and welding machines, irrigation water pumps, fertiliser, motorcycles, cars, and buses.
