The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, stated yesterday that President Bola Tinubu is strongly committed to enhancing Nigerians’ well-being.
She also mentioned that in her capacity as the head of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), she and her team are dedicated to providing support to Nigeria during these challenging times.
Okonjo-Iweala conveyed this during her conversation with State House correspondents following her meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Accompanied by Mohammed Ali Pate, the former Minister of State for Health during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, Okonjo-Iweala highlighted that their focus during the meeting was centered on strategies to aid Nigeria.
She further explained that they are considering implementing a grassroots program to empower young individuals and women.
Additionally, Okonjo-Iweala disclosed that the WTO intends to explore possibilities for assisting sectors like agriculture, textiles, and the establishment of a pharmaceutical industry.
