President Bola Tinubu has arrived at the National Assembly to present the 2024 appropriation bill.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) had approved a proposed budget of N27 trillion for 2024.
President Tinubu is expected to present the budget before a joint session of the National Assembly.
TheCable reported that he entered the chamber at 11:09 am, where Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and other members were seated.
Lawmakers rose to welcome President Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, the Vice President, as they entered the chamber.
Last week, both the Senate and the House of Representatives approved the 2024-2026 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP), setting parameters for the 2024 budget.
The approved benchmarks include oil prices at $73.96, $73.76, and $69.90 per barrel for 2024, 2025, and 2026, respectively, along with daily crude oil production figures.
Additionally, the exchange rate of N700/$, N665.61/$, and N669.79/$ was approved for 2024–2026.
