The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), President Bola Tinubu appointed Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro as the program’s administrator.
Dr. Otuaro brings a wealth of experience to his new role, holding a PhD in Comparative Politics & Development Studies, an MSc in Public Administration, and a BSc in Education.
His extensive background includes serving as a top-level executive at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), where he garnered invaluable experience across various sectors, including infrastructure development, security, environmental remediation, and oil and gas.
The appointment underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of the Amnesty Programme, which plays a crucial role in fostering peace and development in the Niger Delta region.
In a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, President Tinubu expressed confidence in Dr. Otuaro’s ability to revamp the Amnesty Programme and advance its founding purpose and vision. The President anticipates that Dr. Otuaro will leverage his expertise and know-how to steer the program towards greater effectiveness and impact.
The Presidential Amnesty Programme, established to address the grievances of ex-militants in the Niger Delta region and promote peace and development, is a key component of the government’s efforts to foster stability and prosperity in the area.
