Singer Tems has opened up about the motivation behind her annual wardrobe sales, shedding light on her shopaholic tendencies.
The “Damages” artist recently hosted a successful wardrobe sale, where she not only cleared out her closet, including both worn and unworn items, but also sold accessories.
In a recent interview with Cool FM, Tems shared that the annual sales serve as a means to declutter her wardrobe and make space.

Acknowledging her shopaholic tendencies, Tems explained, “I’ve been planning for this sale where every year I sell out my closet, both worn and unworn, tagged and untagged, all my bags, all my glasses, all my boots, all my shoes.
I just cleanse myself of everything I’ve ever bought that year, and I do it annually.” She initiated the practice last year, aiming to address her shopping habits and create room in her wardrobe.
Crucially, Tems revealed that the proceeds from the sales goes to charity. She has partnered with an organization, particularly WARIF, which advocates for women and children affected by domestic violence.
The singer expressed her desire to not only collaborate with the organization but also to bring awareness to its goals through her wardrobe sales.
By doing so, Tems believes she can simultaneously tackle her shopaholic tendencies and contribute to causes that need attention.
Over the past few years, Tems has gained recognition as a fashionista, showcasing high-end designer labels on her Instagram and making waves at award shows.
Her appearance at the Oscars this year, in a noteworthy dress, sparked opinions from figures like Piers Morgan and Jarrett Bellini, further solidifying her presence in the fashion spotlight.
