Since gaining international recognition in 2020 for her notable contribution to Wizkid’s hit ‘Essence,’ Tems has achieved significant commercial success, solidifying her status as one of Nigeria’s prominent music stars.
Adding to her list of accomplishments, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter is set to be awarded the prize for Break Through artist by Billboard at the Women In Music ceremony slated for March 6, 2024.
The Nigerian sensation garnered global acclaim following her appearance on Wizkid’s ‘Essence,’ which reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved massive commercial success.
Tems collaborated with rapper Future on the Grammy-winning ‘Wait For U,’ which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first Nigerian artist to achieve such a debut.
She also featured on Drake’s ‘Fountain’ and Beyonce’s ‘Move,’ both songs earning her Hot 100 entries and setting a record for the most entries by a Nigerian artist at five.
The singer released two singles in the last quarter of 2023, building anticipation for her highly awaited debut album expected to drop in 2024.
