The Supreme Court on Monday reserved judgment in the Bayelsa and Kogi State governorship elections.
The duo of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Timipre Sylva and his Social Democratic Party (SDP) counterpart, Murtala Ajaka, are challenging the outcome of the November 2023 elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States respectively.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Douye Diri and Usman as the winner of the elections in the two states.
Dissatisfied with the announcements, the petitioners approached the tribunal and the court of appeal to set aside the declarations.
The two courts affirmed Diri and Ododo’s victory in the polls.
The appellants, thereafter, approached the Supreme Court to nullify the announcements.
However, in a ruling on Monday, the apex court said it reserved judgments on the matter till a date to be communicated to the parties.
