The Kano state governorship election appeals will be heard by the Supreme Court on Friday.
The court had reserved its decision after hearing the appeals on December 21.
TheCable reports that, six additional judgements will be delivered on Friday.
Yusuf was fired as governor of Kano state by the Kano state governorship election petition tribunal in September.
Because the ballot papers (165,663) were not stamped, signed, and dated as required by law, the tribunal deducted 165,663 votes from the 1,019,602 recorded for Yusuf.
The APC’s Yusuf Gawuna was declared the winner of the vote by the tribunal.
Dissatisfied with the verdict, the NNPP and its candidate appealed to the appellate court.
On November 17, the court of appeals upheld the tribunal’s decision, adding that Yusuf was not a member of the NNPP when he ran for office.
However, the verdict was marred by controversy after a certified true copy (CTC) of the appeal court judgement surfaced, contradicting the November 17 ruling.
The copy of the judgement ruled both against and in favour of the NNPP candidate, causing outrage on social media and in the streets.
The appeals court issued a statement hours later, blaming “clerical error” for the contradictions or discrepancies.
The NNPP then filed an appeal with the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn the appellate court’s decision.
The APC, on the other hand, filed a cross-appeal at the Supreme Court, challenging the lower court’s refusal to find Yusuf had submitted a forged certificate to INEC.
