Resident doctors suspend strike

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has directed its members to resume work on Monday 2nd September 2024 following a seven-day nationwide warning strike. The union went on strike over the abduction of their colleague, Dr Ganiyat Popoola.

Popoola was kidnapped eight months ago.

NARD, however, said it would review the Federal Government’s commitment to resolving its demand in the next three weeks.

The association began a seven-day warning strike last Monday to press for the rescue of Popoola, a registrar in the Department of Ophthalmology at the National Eye Centre, Kaduna.
