Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady of Nigeria, has urged governors’ wives to make a meaningful impact in their states.
During a meeting at the state house in Abuja, Oluremi introduced her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
She requested the support of the governors’ wives for the RHI program. The first lady also assured them that it would not interfere with their personal projects.
Oluremi emphasized the importance of using their positions to assist their spouses in fulfilling their campaign promises.
“I wish to remind each of us that the exalted positions we are in today should be seen as an opportunity to impact more meaningfully, not only in the lives of people in your states but Nigeria as a whole,” the first lady was quoted in a statement by Bukola Kukoyi, her media aide.
In June, the first lady initiated the RHI program to empower women, youth, and children across Nigeria.
During the program’s launch, she emphasized its focus on agriculture, education, economic empowerment, health, and socio-investment.
After the meeting, Olufolake Abdulrazak, the wife of the Kwara governor, expressed her colleagues’ readiness to support the RHI in their respective states.
She further stated that the initiative would complement the efforts of the governors’ wives in their various projects.
