In a significant milestone, Rema achieved the distinction of being the first African artist to grace the stage at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, an annual event organized by the France Football Federation to celebrate the world’s finest football players.
During the ceremony held in Paris, Rema treated the distinguished guests, including top footballers from around the globe, to a performance of his hit track ‘Calm Down.’
Taking to his social media platforms, Rema expressed his deep sense of honor at representing Afrobeats on the global stage and conveyed his gratitude to the divine for the grace he has received.

Davido performed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in Qatar making him the first Nigerian to perform at the World Cup while Burna Boy performed at the 2023 Champions League final in Istanbul making him the first African to record the feat.
