Protesters storm EFCC, demand Matawalle’s probe reopened

These protesters urged the anti-graft agency to thoroughly examine all petitions against the former governor. This notably includes allegations of contract diversion amounting to N70 billion during his tenure.

On Friday, demonstrators hailing from Zamfara State gathered at the entrance of the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

They are asking the anti-graft agency to reopen investigations on the former governor of the state, Bello Matawalle.

Under the banner of the APC Loyalists Forum, these protesters urged the anti-graft agency to thoroughly examine all petitions against the former governor. This notably includes allegations of contract diversion amounting to N70 billion during his tenure.

According to reports from Channels TV, Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC Director of Public Affairs, received the protesters’ letter on behalf of the chairman. He reassured them of the EFCC’s commitment to pursuing every corruption case to its rightful conclusion.
