The presidential election court has reserved judgment in the petition filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) against President Bola Tinubu’s election.

The court panel adjourned for judgment after all parties adopted their final briefs.

The APM contends that Tinubu was improperly sponsored by the APC. They added that he nominated Kashim Shettima while still a candidate for Borno central senatorial district.

However, in a decision issued on May 26, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal as without merit.

According to a five-member panel of the Supreme Court, PDP lacked the locus standi to file the suit.

The apex court also ruled that Shettima was not guilty of double nomination.

But the APM said they had analysed the judgment and still want to continue with their petition.

Tinubu’s counsel argued that the supreme court’s dismissal of the PDP’s appeal affects the APM’s petition.

The APM closed its case after calling one witness and analyzed the supreme court’s judgment.

The respondents in the case include INEC, APC, President Tinubu, Shettima, and Kabiru Masari.
