President Tinubu appoints new leadership for Police Service Commission

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new leadership for the Police Service Commission, (PSC) and the Nigerian Police Trust Fund.

In a statement signed on Monday Ajuri Ngelale, the President approved the appointment of Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hashimu Argungu to serve as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, PSC.

The President also approved the appointment of Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and Retired Deputy Secretary Inspector General of Police, Taiwo Lakanu as Member of the Commission.

Appointed to serve as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) is Mr. Mohammed Sheidu

Ngelale said; “Mr Sheidu’s appointment is with immediate effect while that of the Chairman Police Service Commission and its members is subject to confirmation by the Senate.”

He said that other members of the Police Service Commission would be appointed in due course.

Ngelale further made known that the President expects demonstration of integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in the discharge of their functions for the overall wellbeing of the Nigeria Police and the nation.
