A well-known crossdresser, popularly known as ‘Abuja Area Mama,’ was found dead in the Banex, Wuse II area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Reports indicate that the crossdresser, whose full name has not yet been confirmed, was discovered lying motionless along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway on Thursday morning.
Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, confirmed the discovery of the body in a statement, noting that Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to Adeh, police officers who responded to a distress call from the area quickly transported the individual to Maitama District Hospital, where doctors on duty declared him dead.
She added that further updates on the case will be provided in due course.
