Police neutralize kidnappers, recover arms in Nasarawa State

The Directorate of Intelligence Response Team (DFI-IRT) of the Nigeria Police Force has announced the neutralization of notorious kidnappers and gunrunners in Nasarawa State. This successful operation marks another milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of citizens.

In its relentless pursuit of criminal elements, the DFI-IRT executed an operation in the early hours of February 8, 2024. Targeting a hideout located around Gitata, along the Keffi Gidan Wire Road in Nasarawa State, operatives engaged and neutralized individuals responsible for terrorizing communities in Abuja, Kaduna, Kogi, and Nasarawa states.

According to official reports, the neutralized individuals were not only involved in high-profile kidnappings but also the illicit arms trade, supplying weapons to bandits operating within the region. The recovery of four AK47 rifles, along with dangerous weapons and a bag of ammunition, underscores the gravity of their criminal activities and the threat they posed to public safety.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,  Force Public Relations Officer, reiterated the determination of the NPF to rid communities of criminal elements and maintain peace and security across the nation.

The neutralization of these notorious criminals comes as a significant victory in Nigeria’s ongoing battle against crime and criminality. It sends a clear message to perpetrators that law enforcement agencies will spare no effort in tracking down and bringing them to justice.
