The suspects, Abiodun Salami and Destiny Adeola, were apprehended by the Ogun State Anti-Robbery Squad following a tip-off from residents in Ijoko.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two individuals suspected of being involved in cult-related activities in Sango-Ota, located in the Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, Abiodun Salami and Destiny Adeola, were apprehended by the Ogun State Anti-Robbery Squad following a tip-off from residents in Ijoko.

According to the state Command’s Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, the arrests took place on August 8, 2024. She stated that Salami and Adeola, along with other members of the Eiye Confraternity, had gathered at a location in Ijoko.

“When the squad arrived, the group scattered in different directions, but Salami and Adeola were caught,” Odutola explained.

During interrogation, Adeola confessed to being initiated into the Eiye Confraternity in 2022 at Atan-Otan.

Odutola added that the police are actively working to apprehend the other members who managed to escape. Items recovered from the scene included a toy silver pistol, locally made amulets, and suspected Indian hemp.
