Police operatives from the Rivers State Police Command have apprehended a suspected member of a notorious cult gang believed to be involved in the brutal murder of Superintendent of Police Bako Angbashim, who was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Ahoada Police Division in Ahoada-East local government area of the state.
Angbashim lost his life on September 8, 2023, during a Police operation targeting members of a notorious cult gang at Odiemude community in Ahoada-East local government area.
Following this tragic incident, Governor Siminalayi Fubara promptly announced a ₦100 million bounty on the gang’s leader, Gift Okpara, popularly known as 2Baba, while the Police officially declared members of the gang as wanted individuals.
In a widely circulated video on social media, the arrested gang member was seen confined within a tire and surrounded by law enforcement officers, who were questioning him about the killing of Angbashim.
