Plateau massacre: Inspector General of Police lands in Jos

His visit to the state is coming after a community in Bokkos came under attack on Thursday night.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, has arrived Jos, Plateau State, following the recent killings in the North-Central state.

Egbetokun is visiting Plateau State to assess the Christmas Eve attacks that occurred in Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi, and parts of Mangu. These attacks resulted in the tragic loss of over 190 lives, several injuries, and the destruction of property and houses.

Upon his arrival at the airport, the IGP was received by the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, Julius Alawari, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, and other security chiefs in the state.

A scheduled stakeholders meeting with Governor Caleb Mutfwang will be part of the IGP’s agenda to discuss the security situation in the affected areas. Subsequently, he will proceed to Bokkos to inspect the security measures in place.
