Plateau State Government has initiated a strategic planning retreat aimed at formulating a comprehensive five-year roadmap to enhance the efficiency of healthcare services.
Dr. Agabus Manasseh, the Director-General of Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, revealed this during the commencement of the three-day retreat on Wednesday.
The primary objective of the retreat is to evaluate the performance of PLASCHEMA since its establishment in 2019 and identify areas for enhancement in alignment with its objectives.
Manasseh emphasized that the retreat seeks to foster innovative strategies to ensure universal access to quality healthcare services for all Plateau residents while alleviating financial burdens. He highlighted the importance of developing a smart, specific, realistic, measurable, and time-bound plan during the retreat to guide the agency’s efforts effectively.
Encouraging active participation from all stakeholders, Manasseh underscored the collective responsibility in achieving the desired outcomes of the retreat.
Dr. Kilchem Bawa, the lead facilitator at the retreat, emphasized the significance of strategic planning in providing a roadmap for the agency to achieve its overarching goals and vision. He stressed that a strategic plan serves as a framework for goal attainment, facilitates progress tracking, and identifies areas for improvement.
He added, “A strategic plan creates a framework for the attainment of the organisation’s goals and vision. It also helps to track the organisation’s progress and lapses that would need redress and improvement.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that PLASCHEMA was established in 2019 with the mandate of ensuring access to affordable, equitable, timely and quality healthcare provision for all residents of Plateau, irrespective of their socio-economic status.
