PDP clears all 17 LG chairmanship seats in Enugu

ENSIEC Chairman described the election as the most transparent yet

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won all chairmanships in the recent council elections on Saturday, September 22.

Prof. Christian Ngwu, Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), declared the results and congratulated the commission on executing a free and fair election.

He described the election as the most transparent yet, stressing that the results were thoroughly compiled and analysed to avoid errors.

He said:

“We carefully collated and analysed the results to ensure no mistakes.”

However, none of the opposition party candidates for chairmanship visited the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), which released the election results.

Greg Amyaegbudike, the chairman-elect for Oji River local government, expressed his pleasure over the election and stated that youth empowerment will be his main focus.

He promised to creating job opportunities for qualified individuals and organising skill-building initiatives that would benefit the entire community.

“I’ll make sure that the youth of Oji River are gainfully employed. Those who are employable will get employed,” he said.
