Dangote Petroleum Refinery reports that trucks operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited have begun loading premium motor spirit (PMS), generally known as fuel, at its gantry.
On Sunday, Dangote Group posted footage on X that showed the trucks stationed at the gantry.
The company said:
“First set of trucks set for loading of PMS at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.”
The development followed NNPC’s deployment of trucks to the petrol-loading gantry of Dangote refinery on Saturday.
NNPC said:
“In preparation for the Dangote Refinery’s scheduled petrol loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024, NNPC Ltd. has been mobilizing trucks to the refinery’s fuel loading gantry in Ibeju-Lekki.”
On September 14, the federal government said Dangote refinery will sell petrol to only the NNPC, adding that interested marketers would have to buy the product from the national oil firm.
However, the government stated that the Dangote refinery can sell diesel to any off-taker.
The Dangote refinery began producing petrol on September 3.
On the same day, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) announced that the Dangote refinery will deliver 25 million litres of fuel per day in September, increasing to 30 million litres per day beginning in October.
