The Nigerian Army (NA) has appointed Hajara Egbunu as an army warrant officer (WO).
Mathias Amatso, head of the Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC), presented Egbunu with her new rank during a ceremony in Abuja on Friday.
With the promotion, Egbunu becomes the first female soldier from the elite Infantry Corps and NAWC to achieve the renowned rank of Army Warrant Officer.
Army warrant officers are the most senior noncommissioned officers and the most junior commissioned officers.
Amatso stated that Egbubu’s promotion demonstrated her hard work, perseverance, and effectiveness.
He advised her to continue encouraging younger soldiers while adhering to the essential ideals of the Nigerian Army.
