Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, has postponed the release of the video for her hit song “Burning” from her debut album “Born In The Wild,” which was originally scheduled to drop today.
In a statement shared on her X handle, the Oscar-nominated artist explained that the decision was made out of respect for the ongoing nationwide protests.
She also expressed her support for the protest against bad governance, emphasizing the importance of listening to the people’s voices.
Tems wrote: “Out of respect for the ongoing protest at home 🇳🇬, I have decided to postpone the release of the ‘Burning’ music video. Praying for the safety of those outside at this time. May the voice of the people be heard.”
