NAF apprehend notorious kidnapper in Kano

Troops of the Nigerian Air Force deployed at Durbunde in Takai Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State have successfully apprehended a notorious kidnapper identified as Isah Abdul. The 35-year-old high-profile criminal was captured on 19 February 2024 at approximately 6:30 pm in a well-coordinated operation based on credible intelligence regarding his hideout.

Isah Abdul, known for his involvement in several kidnapping incidents in the area, was apprehended along with his accomplices following thorough surveillance and intelligence gathering. Preliminary investigations have revealed the extent of his criminal activities, including the abduction of prominent individuals such as Yakubu Ibrahim Tagaho, popularly known as “Sarkin Noman Gaya,” from his residence in Tagaho Village in Takai Local Government Area on 6 April 2023. The victim was held captive for a month and released only after a ransom of N30,000,000=00 was paid.

Furthermore, Isah Abdul and his gang were responsible for the abduction of two sisters and three others in the same village in December 2023. These victims were also released after the payment of substantial ransoms. Additionally, Abdul is linked to various other kidnapping activities and has established connections with notorious kidnapping gangs like the Danbul Fulaku gang, operating within Takai LGA.

Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, confirmed that Isah Abdul is currently in custody and undergoing thorough investigation. He assured the public that Abdul will soon be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.

The successful apprehension of Isah Abdul represents a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities in Kano State.
