The Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, has urged well-meaning Nigerians to come together and support the ailing Nollywood actor Zack Orji, who recently underwent brain surgery on January 1, 2024.

Musawa made this plea during her visit to the actor in a private hospital in Wuse, Abuja, on Tuesday. Expressing sympathy for the veteran actor’s family, she described Zack Orji as a national asset and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in supporting him during his health challenges.

The minister stated, “God will heal him, and he will be well. We will do all we can to support him. We solicit the collective prayers of Nigerians because he is like a part of our families. We have watched him entertain us, and we see him as a national treasure.”

Musawa emphasized that reaching out to other well-meaning Nigerians for support, both through prayers and other means, is crucial to ensuring that Zack Orji receives the best possible treatment. She acknowledged his significant contributions to the film industry, stating, “This is not only about the Ministry which I am representing. You know that Zack Orji has been in the industry for decades. This is a man who has given his time and effort to entertain Nigerians.”

Zack Orji’s wife, Ngozi Zack Orji, expressed gratitude to the minister for her benevolence and for taking the time to visit her husband. She provided an update on Zack Orji’s condition, noting that he had undergone emergency surgery, and she requested the support of kind Nigerians through prayers and any assistance they may be willing to offer for his quick recovery.
