Mohbad’s spirit won’t let me rest – Bella Shmurda

Bella Shmurda has joined the growing number of Nigerians sharing their thoughts on Mohbad's passing.

Nigerian artist Abiola Akinbiyi, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has expressed deep concern about the passing of his fellow artist Mohbad and vowed to seek justice for the tragic loss.

Bella Shmurda broke his silence a few days after the confirmation of Mohbad’s death ( Ilerioluwa Aloba), sparking discussions about the circumstances of the singer’s demise.

Taking to X (previously known as Twitter), Shmurda joined the growing number of Nigerians sharing their thoughts on Mohbad’s passing, expressing his distress over the situation.

“In the past few days have tried my best not to carry my phone and type anything but Mohbad’s spirit won’t let me rest knowing I’m the only one who makes his spirit calm by making those of them who make him live in fear and almost with nothing to feed on never also get rest and he don start yes I mean wahaLa just wan start like this,” he wrote.

“Whatever it may be this boy sang for make us happy, jubilate, think, rejoice supported even while is in pain and living in fear now it’s our time to do our part for him. I want everyone with one voice, let’s get him justice, all hands on deck #justice for Mohbad fish dem out legal or illegal.”

The “Cash App” hitmaker demanded that the police arrest Naira Marley, the CEO of Marlian Records, and another associate named Sam Larry, whom allegations suggest had a role in Mohbad’s unfortunate demise.

“I NO GO GREE (I will not agree) and I mean it Samlarry and whole Marlians music must be arrested make all of us Dey police and if the Nigerian police are too weak as a body to fish these people out we do it street, legal or illegal any which way like this war don start,” he added.

He also implored Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu and a prominent youth figure, to intervene in the circumstances surrounding the rapper’s death.

“You’re the face of youth in this country and I know you’re a man of diligence and integrity. Please, activate before we go street on this matter. Police station no go contain all of us Ajeh,” he said.

Shmurda, who was scheduled to tour Canada, announced the cancellation of his tour due to the recent tragic event.

Two days after the controversial passing of the young singer, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) announced its intention to investigate the circumstances that led to the death.
