Mohbad reaped the reward of associating with evil men – Tunde Bakare

“When he was drinking and smoking and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth.

Tunde Bakare, the general overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, commented on the late singer Mohbad, stating that he faced the consequences of his negative lifestyle during his lifetime.

Mohbad, who passed away on September 12 and was buried the next day, continues to be a topic of controversy on social media.

Speaking at the 2nd anniversary of The Envoy Nation, a UK-based church, Bakare mentioned that the late singer associated with negative influences while alive.

The cleric argued that the 27-year-old artiste engaged in an “unpleasant lifestyle” and failed to realise “that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth”.

During the summit titled ‘Harvest’, the clergyman also rhetorically asked the congregation “if Mohbad is a good name”.

“My wife and I listened to a tape last night on MohBad. How many of you know Mohbad? The Nigerian artiste who died at 27? Mohbad,” he asked.

“When he was drinking and smoking and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth.

“I am not blaming him, I am just telling you. Is Mohbad a good name? Moh Bad.”

Thousands of fans have protested nationwide while demanding justice for the late singer.

The Lagos police inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe Mohbad’s death on September 18.
