Kano State Government spends N1.5 billion on NECO registration fees for 57,000 secondary school students, aiming to enhance education.

According to a statement by Alhaji Ibrahim Shuaibu, Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Gwarzo, Governor Abba Yusuf made this known.

During the opening of the exams at Rumfa College, Yusuf, represented by Gwarzo, emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the education sector.

He urged the students to strive for excellent results to justify the substantial investment in their academic endeavors.

” You need to put in your best and remain committed so that you can come up with good results of the examination, that can make the state and your family happy and proud of you,” he said.

The Commissioner for Education, Malam Umar Doguwa, announces the establishment of a committee to assess and potentially reopen previously closed boarding schools.

He praises the state government for improving the schools’ feeding program and promises the provision of additional furniture soon.

Background

The National Examination Council (NECO) is a Nigerian examination body that administers the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination and the General Certificate in Education in June/July and November/December, respectively.
