Kano gov denies awarding medical supply contract to 44 LGAs

The Governor urged the good people of Kano State to exercise patience pending the outcome of the investigation.

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has denied any involvement in a recent contract awarded for the supply of drugs to the state’s 44 Local Government Councils.

In a statement issued on Sunday, jointly signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye, and the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, the governor distanced himself from the contract.

The statement, shared with the press in Kano, also noted that the governor has directed the Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission to conduct an immediate investigation into the matter and report the findings for further action.

Governor Yusuf also called on the people of Kano State to remain patient while the investigation is underway.
