Kaduna state security council relaxes curfew

The Kaduna State Security Council, led by Governor Uba Sani, has lifted the curfew previously imposed on Kaduna and Zaria towns and their surrounding areas.

The decision, which comes after a thorough assessment of the security situation, is effective immediately, allowing residents to move freely and engage in their daily activities without restriction.

The curfew, which had been in place from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., was removed following a unanimous recommendation by the Security Council during a meeting held last night.

The security council emphasized that all public processions or gatherings must be approved by the relevant authorities to prevent disruptions to public order.

Governor Sani, who presided over the meeting, expressed his gratitude to the security agencies, religious and traditional leaders, and other key stakeholders for their efforts in managing the recent unrest following protests in Kaduna and Zaria.
