Jigawa police arrest two wanted robbery suspects in Kano

The arrests were related to a previous incident on July 19, 2023, when a distress call reported that a group of armed individuals had invaded the home of one Sunusi Hudu in G9 quarters, Dutse LGA.

Two suspected armed robbers, who were on the wanted list of the Jigawa State Police Command, have been apprehended.

The Assistant Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Isah, announced the arrest in a statement on Saturday in Dutse, the state capital.

According to Isah, the suspects, Yusuf Yusuf (25) from Katoge quarters, Kazaure Local Government Area, and Umar Abubakar (23) from Dakayyawa village, Kaugama LGA, were tracked and arrested on December 12, 2023, in Kano State.

The arrests were related to a previous incident on July 19, 2023, when a distress call reported that a group of armed individuals had invaded the home of one Sunusi Hudu in G9 quarters, Dutse LGA.

The victim was assaulted, and valuables, including a Honda Accord 2011 model, two plasma televisions, an HP Laptop computer, and a Redmi Note 11pro phone, were stolen.

Following a tip-off by the investigative team of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Dutse, Umar Abubakar, along with Yakubu Mohammed and Zakariyya Dahiru, were arrested on October 18, 2023, in connection with the offense.

The suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime during interrogation.

All the arrested suspects will undergo further investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Dutse, before being arraigned in court.
