Why people travel during festivities

It is natural for humans to desire to see a new place. Travelling is when people move from one place to another, and it is a fantastic way to learn many things in life.

Many people around the world travel every year to different places. It is essential to travel as humans. Some travel to learn more, while some travel to take a break from their life. No matter the reason, travelling allows us to explore the world beyond our imagination and indulge in many things.

Travel gives us our most remarkable stories, cherished memories, and countless irreplaceable learnings that we can choose to pay forward to others. It teaches us about ourselves and each other, broadens our horizons, and forces us to refocus on what matters, just like a reset button. It is a good remedy for stress, anxiety and depression.

People travel for different reasons, such as education, jobs, business, relaxation, to explore, discovery, pilgrimage, etc. When one travels, one gets to meet new people, make new friends, interact with them, and see how they live, speak and more. It broadens one’s horizon and perspective on life.

Sitting by the window side while travelling is something no one should miss. Travelling by land, you will watch the trees and houses and how they come to one’s vision and travel by the twinkling of an eye, how everything is running swiftly in the opposite directions.

Passing through the forest is actually the best part: the tall trees and the charm of nature’s green beauties. By air, you get to see how trees and houses look small, like toys, the beautiful landscape, and then the clouds.

Tourism in Nigeria centers primarily on events due to the country’s big ethnic groups, waterfalls, savannah forests, and other beautiful natural attractions.

Nigeria has so many beautiful attraction sites like the Obudu Mountain Resort in Cross River, Karuju Castle in Kaduna, Olumo Rock in Abeokuta, Ogbunike Cave in Anambra, Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove in Osun, Lekki Conservation Center in Lagos, Yankari Game Reserve in Bauchi and so many others.

In Nigeria, people travel more during festive periods, such as Eid, Christmas, and traditional festivals, because they have extra time off from work and school.

The festive period is an excellent opportunity for people to reunite with their family members, catch up and celebrate the holidays together.

As a vibrant country, the festive period is a great time to experience the lively culture and atmosphere. From religious celebrations to carnivals and parades, there is plenty to see and do.

Those who travel to their villages participate in cultural festivals, from traditional dances and ceremonies to music and art.

Those who have children and live far from their hometowns usually see it as an opportunity to take their children home to reunite with their cousins, learn about their culture, and know their origin. However, some do not see any reason to travel; they see it as a waste of time, money and resources.

Travelling helps us create memories that can never fade, as well as an opportunity to rewind and learn about the world where we live in. It widens one’s perspective, learning, and personal growth. Reading is good, but nothing beats having a real-life experience.
