The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded its defence in the petition filed by Peter Obi and the Labour Party (LP) at the presidential election petition court.
Lawrence Bayode, an information technology practitioner, provided evidence during the court session, stating that blurred documents from the result viewing portal do not affect the polling unit results.
Bayode also stated that they use only physical results (forms EC8As) to collate the final election results, emphasizing that the glitch during the presidential poll did not affect the credibility of the election results.
Following the witness’s testimony, INEC stated that they had no further witnesses to call.
President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s counsel, Wole Olanipekun, announced that their defence would begin on Wednesday.
The five-member panel, led by Haruna Tsammani, has adjourned the case to Wednesday.
Marked as CA/PEPC/03/2023, the petition challenges Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election.
