Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has approved the payment of N70,000 minimum wage for state civil servants.
He announced this decision on Saturday during the Ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival 2024 and instructed relevant authorities to establish procedures for implementing the new wage starting in September.
The governor also criticized the poor handling of government projects by prominent state leaders, particularly the housing estates in Izo Autonomous Community, Ishielu Local Government Area.
He directed the Commissioner for Housing to ensure the immediate painting of these houses and urged residents to report any delays in government projects by contractors.
