Former Kaduna Governor Yero resigns from PDP

Yero previously served as the Governor of Kaduna State, succeeding Governor Patrick Yakowa.

Former Kaduna State governor, Mukhtar Yero, has tendered his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a letter dated September 30, 2023, addressed to the Kaura Ward Chairman of the PDP in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Yero conveyed his decision to resign from the party. However, he did not provide specific reasons for his departure. Notably, he attached his PDP membership card to the submitted letter.

Yero previously served as the Governor of Kaduna State, succeeding Governor Patrick Yakowa following a helicopter crash in 2012. He also held the position of Commissioner for Finance during Governor Namadi Sambo’s administration, who later became the Vice President in 2010.
