Fire guts Lagos Blue Line rail track

The incident occurred at 4:12 pm. No casualty is reported and no train service at the time of the incident.

A fire broke out on a section of the Lagos State Blue Line rail track on Saturday near NEPA Station by Eko Bridge, heading toward Apogbon.

Gboyega Akosile, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, confirmed the incident, noting that no casualties were recorded.

In a post on X, Akosile wrote: “A fire occurred on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track opposite NEPA Station by Eko Bridge, Apogbon-bound, at 4:12 pm. There were no casualties, and no train was in service at the time.

“A team of safety and emergency personnel quickly responded and completely extinguished the fire. Lagosians in the area can continue their activities as the situation is under control.

“Further updates on train operations will be shared by @Lamataonline.”
